Mr. Thorpe received his J.D from South Texas College of Law in 1986. He began his practice as a solo practitioner in the area of creditors' rights.

Prior to joining Bush & Ramirez, Mr. Thorpe was a member and executive vice president of, and general counsel to, Pentagroup Financial, LLC. At Pentagroup, he was responsible for providing and coordinating all legal services to the company as well as managing the company's human resources, training, customer service and administrative related functions. Mr. Thorpe has held senior legal positions with several organizations, including vice president and general counsel of Algis Group, LP; National Action Financial Services, a division of Sitel Corporation (NYSE: SWW); and Integratec, Inc. Following the sale of Integratec to Equifax Credit Information Services, Mr. Thorpe was employed as Vice President and Associate Group Counsel by Equifax, Inc. (NYSE:EFX) where he was responsible for providing and coordinating legal services for its collection, technology and credit marketing business units.

Mr. Thorpe is licensed to practice law in Texas and Georgia (inactive). He is a member of ACA International's Members Attorney Program, is an ACA approved collection notice review attorney and served on the ACA legal defense fund committee for twelve years.
